The former commissioner of IPL, Mr. Lalit Modi has described that the latest developments that are taking place at the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) is a kind of blackmailing tactic. Lalit Modi was the IPL commissioner for the first three seasons of IPL after which he was removed from BCCI.
Today, there has been an incident at the RCA. An anti-faction in RCA led by Amin Pathan, allegedly removed the former IPL commissioner, Lalit Modi from the post of the President in a bid to end its stand-off with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
This resolution came into effect when there was a voting on it. And it was found that 23 of the 33 districts voted against the former BCCI vice-president, Lalit Modi. Modi was pretty much angered at this. He said that some disgruntled members probably did not get their way in selection of boys and that is the reason why they revolted. Modi also added by saying that he is not at all worried about such vested people.
Modi also threw an open challenge and he said that if someone wants to revolt against him, he would welcome them. But he assured of the fact that there shall not be any interference or blackmailing from his end.
His words were as such, “No interference in selection has always been my mantra? if someone wants to revolt, most welcome. But at my watch, no interference or blackmailing will be allowed.”
A few months earlier, in December, 2013, Modi had won an election supervised by court with 29 out of 33 units going in favour of him.
