Latest: Mukhtar Ahmed becomes Pakistan’s highest run scorer in domestic T20
Mukhtar Ahmed became the most runs scorer in domestic T20 format on Tuesday.
The cricketer, playing in Cool and Cool Haier Mobile T-20 Cup Group A match, scored 123 runs off 67 balls. The innings was studded with 18 fours and 3 big sixes.
Opening with Nauman Anwar for Sialkot Region, Mukhtar contributed hugely as the team’s 1st innings score totaled as much as 198 runs for the loss of five wickets. Nauman scored a mentionable 51. Karachi Region Whites, who had lost the toss earlier, lost the match as well as they managed to put up not more than 191 runs in their 20 overs. For Karachi, it was Ahsan Ali with his 76 runs who turned out to be the highest scorer of the side.
The previous record of domestic runs in the 20 overs format was held by Imran Farhat, with his 115 runs.
Mukhtar made his international debut for Pakistan earlier this year in the T20 match against Bangladesh in April this year. To be noted that the batsman scored his maiden T20 international half-century in the following match only. The match was played at Lahore against Zimbabwe for which he got the Man of the Match award. He bagged another similar award in the next match as he again scored a crucial fifty in that match.
Looking at the tremendous form this batsman is, it can be said that this new Pakistani talent finds its way to stun the world with more such glorious innings.
