Former India skipper Dileep Vengsarkar has said that out of form Shikhar Dhawan needs to be dropped from the Indian team and Gautam Gambhir needs to play. Further, he insisted that R Ashwin should play in place of Ravindra Jadeja.

He said, “Gambhir in place of Shikhar Dhawan and a place for Ashwin has to be made in the side for the Manchester Test. When an English spinner can do so much, Ashwin too can spin magic on English pitches.”

Former Tamil Nadu spinner M Venkataramana added, “The key here is that England have many left handers in their side. An off-spinner to a predominantly left-handed batting lineup is always an advantage.”

Team India certainly needs to make changes if they want to bounce back.
