The ICC Cricket World Cup is held in every 4 years. It commenced in the year 1975 and earlier it was called as Prudential Cup. So far, 10 World Cups were being held and we are nearly over 6 months away for the 11th World Cup. In the 10 World Cups, Australia were crowned as the champions for 4 times. India and West Indies are poised at second position with 2 World Cup wins each. The remaining 2 of the World Cups were won by Pakistan and Sri Lanka respectively. Now let us explore the World Cup winning squads since 1975.

West Indies (1975): The West Indies team, led by the marvellous captain, Clive Lloyd were victorious in the first ever World Cup being played. They defeated Australia in the final by a margin of 17 runs to seal their name as the champions of the first ever World Cup. West Indies were a sort of unbeatable side at that time and there were gigantic strengths in the team in the form of Sir Viv Richards, Sir Andy Roberts and others. West Indies (1979): It was the era of domination of the Caribbean men in the international cricket. They clinched the World Cup for the second consecutive time and Lloyd’s men were a sort of unbeatable. This time, West Indies defeated England in the final by a margin of 92 runs. India (1983): It was for the first time when India overpowered the Caribbean men and clinched their maiden World Cup win. This World Cup win was the nucleus for the Cricket Revolution in India. Pakistan (1992): Led by Imran Khan, Pakistan managed to get triumphant in the year 1992 where they defeated England in the final by 22 runs to clinch their only World Cup title. Here is the squad:
