Manoj Tiwari is having real good time nowadays. After successfully emerging as a winner in both the practice matches while leading India A team against touring West Indies, he has been attracting quite a lot of attraction from media and fans. Yesterday, he has shown his guts again when as a skipper of East Zone, he contributed a vital unbeaten 100 in a Duleep trophy mach against West Zone, thus leaving his team with a reasonable score of 278 on the first day of the four day encounter. In fact, East zone were 116 for 5 when Manoj Tiwari and Laxmi Ratan Shukla took over and they were able to bail out their team successfully by batting sensibly and added 69 runs in just 50 balls. Shukla scored 54 runs. However East zone were bowed in 75 overs.

The venue was Bansi Lal Stadium in Lahli, which is known to be having the most seamer- friendly pitches and it proved lucky for Medium pacer Dhawal Kulkarni of West Zone, who took 3 wickets for 62 runs For West Zone. Kulkarni was duly supported by fellow bowlers Yusf Pathan with 2 for 55 and Srikant Mundhe with 2 for 56.

West Zone were 10 for no loss at the close of the day.
