Manoj Tiwary has been named as the captain of India A team against West Indies

India A would be playing two limited overs warm-up matches in Mumbai ahead of the five-match ODI series, that will start on October 8 in Kochi. It is pertinent to add that Tiwary had also led India A in the two first-class matches against Australia A, earlier this year. However he will be leading India A for the first time in any List A match.

The team that will be led by him mainly consists of players who had represented India A in its victorious campaign in the quadrangular one-day meet in Australia last month. The key players to watch out for are Sanju Samson, Amit Mishra, Stuart Binny, Kedar Jadhav, Parveez Rasool, Karn Sharma and Dhawal Kulkarni. We will also see a fresh face, namely Punjab batsman Gurkeerat Singh Mann. Murali Vijay however will get another shot at redemption in order to remain alive in ODI. Though talented Delhi batsman Unmukt Chand has not been able to perform last season but still he has managed to hold onto his position in India A.

The first game would be played at Brabourne Stadium and the second would be held at Wankhede Stadium. With the team comprising of talent like Samson, Mishra, Jadhav, Rasool, Karn Sharma and experienced Murli Vijay, most of the fans see this as a big opportunity for the young lads to showcase their talent which might pave way for their progression to Team India. Best Wishes.
