Australian all-rounder Marcus Stoinis, in order to polish skills, has sought the help of India’s peak performance coach Anand Chulani. As per reports, it is stated that Stoinis came in contact with him during his stint for the Kings Xi Punjab in the Indian Premier League. Chulani, who has earlier worked with notable sportspersons like Serena Williams and Ross Taylor, was the part of the team’s support staff and acted as the official peak performance and mental conditioning.
“My time working with peak performance and mental conditioning coach Anand Chulani with Kings XI Punjab in the IPL has been a key moment in my career,”
said Stonis.
“We’ve continued to work since the IPL and that has helped me bring out my potential.
“I’ve always believed in myself but our work has helped me develop the mindset of a champion and a process to deliver my best. I am excited to continuing to work with him for a long time and helping my country and the Kings XI franchise win games.”
Stonis recently grabbed the headlines for his scintillating all-round performance against New Zealand which almost secured Australia a fantastic win before the Black Caps pulled off a thrilling 6 run win. The seam bowling allrounder cracked a spectacular 146 runs knock while snapping three wickets to emerge as the hero for his team.
The Steven Smith led side, after being put up a target of 287, were brought down to 137/5 at one stage during the chase at the Eden park, Auckland.
However, before the hosts could think of scrapping the Australians for an easy win, Marcus Stoinis took up the challenge and produced 117 balls run fest which featured 11 sixes and 9 boundaries. His incredible batting effort was preceded by an impressive bowling show of 3/49.
