Lendl Simmons ruled out from IPL 2016 due to an injury
Guptill is a very attacking and dangerous batsman in the international cricket. In the recent time, he is in very great form. But shockingly, he was unsold during the IPL 2016 auction. However, he has not wait much long as he is replacing Lendl Simmons.
Lendl Simmons was suffering from a back injury from the beginning of ICC WT20 2016. He was ruled out from the WT20 2016 at first but later he made a comeback in the West Indies squad after replacing injured Darren Fletcher and played in the last two crucial games at the semi-final and final matches. In the semi-final, he received the man of the match award by playing an impressive match-winning knock of unbeaten 82 runs.
Only time will tell if the Guptill’s induction into the side will be fruitful or not. But currently, Mumbai Indians fans are excited with this news as many cricket fans were missing Guptill’s entertaining batting in the current IPL.
Guptill has not featured in the IPL before while Simmons made debut in the IPL 2014 for Mumbai Indians. Simmons has played 22 matches for Mumbai Indians where he has scored 942 runs with the average of 47.1. Simmons has hit 1 century and 9 half-centuries for Mumbai Indians in IPL.
