With Delhi Daredevils losing 2 close matches and being down on confidence, they take on Kings XI Punjab today at Pune. Here we look at XI of both the teams and man to man to analysis that will decide the fortune of the match.

Kings XI Punjab

Virender Sehwag, Murali Vijay, Glenn Maxwell, David Miller, Geroge Bailey(C), Wriddhman Saha, Rishi Dhawan, Axar Patel, Mitchell Johnson, Sandeep Sharma, Anureet Singh

Delhi Daredevils

Mayank Aggarwal, Manoj Tiwary, Yuvraj Singh, JP Duminy(C), Angelo Mathews, Kedar Jadhav, Sheryas Iyer, Nathan Coulter-Nile, Amit Mishra, Imran Tahir, Jaydev Undakat

This will be first interesting battle to look out for in this match. George Bailey played a captain’s knock and helped Punjab to post a competitive total against Mumbai and his record in the IPL speaks about him but for Duminy after taking the captaincy role he has lost 2 close matches but has to take the charge by batting up the order. This battle is won by Bailey.

1. Virender Sehwag vs Angelo Mathews

Virender Sehwag is an explosive opener which can destroy any bowling attack and he did the same against Mumbai scoring 36 runs off 18 balls and just made the scoring very easy whereas Angelo Mathews has only played a one match in the tournament so far and needs to be at his best to help DD over coem their poor run. Because of his expreince in T20 and age on his side Mathews wins this battle.

2. Murali Vijay vs Mayank Aggrawal

Murali Vijay has looked in fine form so far hitting the ball crisply. In both matches Murali Vijay has given the team a flying start, but for Mayank Aggarwal he has also played decently in the two matches so far. He knows the conditions well but has to convert the good start into big scores. Because of the experience Murali Vijay wins this battle.

3. Glenn Maxwell vs Manoj Tiwary

Glenn Maxwell has not fired with the bat in the tournament so far. He has got 7 and 6 in the two matches played but knows how to deliver when the team requires but as for Manoj Tiwary he did not get a chance to bat in the last match but can be an important chance to score runs. Maxwell win this battle

4. David Miller vs Yuvraj Singh

David Miller in the two matches so far has scored 23 and 24 runs but he is key member of the squad and can hit the ball a long way in the death overs but Yuvraj too has looked out of sorts scoring 9 and 27. Both the players will look to give their teams a good finish to their innings. So this battle evens out with their performances in two matches so far.

5. Wriddhman Saha vs Kedar Jadhav

Wriddhman Saha is a brilliant wicketkeeper for Kings XI Punjab who played an excellent knock of 100 in the finals of previous editions but Kedar Jadhav is a promising Indian batsman and has to make use of the chance and score big. Because of the experience Wriddhman Saha wins this battle.

6. Rishi Dhawan vs Sheryas Iyer

Rishi Dhawan is a useful all rounder who bowls and bats in the lower order. He has played only 1 match so far and has not done well in that match. If the pitch is useful for the fast bowlers then he can be a handful but for Sheryas Iyer he has contributed well for Delhi in the last match but needs to contribute well if Delhi has to beat Punjab. So because of experience Rishi Dhawan wins this battle.

7. Axar Patel vs Nathan Coulter Nile

Axar Patel has played for Kings XI Punjab in the last edition and was the emerging player of the tournament. He bowls good line and length, stump to stump forces the batsmen to play rash strokes and also is a good lower order whereas Nathan Coulter Nile is good fast bowler and has bowled well in the match against Chennai but was expensive against Rajasthan Royals. Moreover, he is also a handy lower order batsman. So this battle evens out.

8. Mitchell Johnson vs Amit Mishra

Mitchell Johnson bowled brilliantly against Mumbai Indians picking crucial wickets. He bowls at one change and bowls with pace, does not allow the batsmen to score runs of him whereas Amit Mishra too has bowled well in the middle overs for Delhi and also picked wickets. It will be an interesting battle to watch out for. Because of their performances the battle evens out.

9. Sandeep Sharma vs Imran Tahir

Sandeep Sharma has been brilliant with the new ball in the two matches so far. He has created problems for the batsmen and just has not allowed them to score runs freely but for Imran Tahir he has also bowled brilliantly and also took wickets against Rajasthan Royals. Because of his experience Imran Tahir wins the battle.

10. Anureet Singh vs Jaydev Undakat

Anureet Singh has been the best bowler for Kings XI Punjab. He with Sandeep Sharma have created pressure on the batsmen and also bowled well in the death overs too whereas Jaydev Undakat was very expensive in the previous match. In this battle Anureet Singh is slightly ahead.

Match Predictions : With Punjab back in winning form, it will be difficult for Delhi Daredevils to defeat them at their own den.
