The Madurai Super Giants coach Michael Bevan has left the TNPL midway and has headed back to his home back in Australia citing some personal reasons. The actual reason is yet t be revealed but it looks like that he is set to miss the full tournament as the franchise has already announced that the current member of support staff has been elevated to the post of the coach of the team. Doing some math makes it clear that Bevan will not come back for rest of the tournament.
Three consecutive losses can be the probable reason behind his exit as in past we have seen that the franchises are always ready to pay hefty amounts to international coaches but also remove them early if they fail to deliver the results. From the results of the three matches, it is clear that the poor form of the team is the reason behind his exit but sources are not ready to accept this theory,
“He has left for Australia only because of personal commitments and nothing else. We are not sure on when he would come back. For now, Srikkanth and Russell are the coaches. They have been with us ever since the start of the season and they have a lot of experience in handling T20 teams,” said a source.
Michael Bevan was announced as the coach of the Madurai franchise on July 30 this year.
