Michael Clarke has been ruled out of the ODI series against Pakistan in the UAE in October because of the hamstring injury he sustained during the recent tri-series in Zimbabwe. In the absence of Michael Clarke, George Bailey will lead the Aussies in the tournament.

Australia began their preparation for the 2015 World cup last month in the triangular series involving Zimbabwe and South Africa. With just four months to go for the World Cup, it is very crucial for all the players to prove their form to the selectors and maintain their fitness levels.

With the kind of middle order Australia has, it won’t be a huge void in the team if Clarke misses out from the ODI team. Aussies have better limited over players than Clarke and he should make himself unavailable for the World Cup just for the sake of his team, which is a very difficult decision to take.

It is expected that Michael Clarke will be fit to play the test matches against Pakistan in UAE. Australia will begin their UAE tour with a T20 International against the Pakistanis on October 5.
