Former England captain and Opening Batsman Michael Vaughn has express strong faith in India to retain the ICC Cricket World Cup this year. Vaughn who is a frequent user of the microblogging site twitter, expressed that India are looking a formidable side with all departments excelling in their respective disciplines.
He tweeted that India looked right in the hunt for back to back world cup wins. Vaughn has also complimented the disciplined bowling by the Indian bowling attack, which was considered the sole weakness of the team and has been subjected to harsh criticism over the past two months, due to its lacklustre and ordinary performance down under during the recent tour to Australia, where they were humiliated in both the test and the ODI series.
Vaughn has lauded the Indian pacers for their ingenuity in pace variations, variety and pinpoint accuracy. He even went on to hail it as the best bowling attack in the current world cup. Indian bowlers have completely flustered the cricketing world with their strong and mature performances, with Umesh Yadav exuding menacing pace and bounce, Ravichandran Ashwin showcasing great guile and skill in spin, Mohit Sharma displaying tactness and immaculate accuracy, and Shami deftly swinging the bowl at great line and length.
