Recently, Dean Jones the former Australian cricketer said that Mitchell Johnson, the Aussie speedster is one of the most feared and deadly fast bowlers in the world at the present. And according to Jones, Johnson is an acute nightmare for the batsmen.

Jones also said that Johnson is one fast bowler who has got the X factor present in him and this means that he is feared by the batsmen. Also, his pace is  pretty much consistent and he bowls regularly at a pace of over 150 kmph.

In addition to these, Jones said that Johnson also possesses the aggressive look on his face which reminds one of the likes of Andy Roberts, Colin Croft, Curtly Ambrose, Dennis Lillee, Jeff Thomson and last but not the least, Malcolm Marshall.

However, Johnson, after claiming the Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for the best cricketer of the world in the year 2009, suffered from a number of fitness related issues which resulted in his poor form. He was struggling with his line and direction and also his bounce and speed decreased considerably. But he recovered from it strongly and after some good training from Craig McDermott and Dennis Lillee, Johnson regained his form and he is as destructive as he was in 2008-09.

Jones also  added concerns about the fact that Johnson has reached 33 and thus his captain and coach, Michael Clarke and Darren Lehmann respectively have to be very much careful upon using him in the next five months or so. Also, Johnson will definitely be the prime strength for Australia in the upcoming World Cup. And if he gets going then Australia will surely have definite chances in winning the championship.

Jones also mentioned of the fact that the prime focus of the selectors at the moment should be on the World Cup which is just 5-6 months away. Bowlers should be used cautiously in the tournaments prior to the World Cup.

Jones also added that Johnson is pretty much loved by the younger generation.
