After Hardik Patel, convener of Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS), threatened to disrupt the third ODI between India and South Africa in Rajkot, the Saurashtra Cricket Association has taken some extreme measures. As per the latest developments pouring in, mobile services in Rajkot will be suspended from 10 AM tomorrow till the third ODI ends. This extreme step has been taken in order to counter the activities of Hardik Patel, whose organization intends to disrupt the game.
As per alleged rumors, curfew too is likely to be imposed in some areas of Rajkot. The Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti since the last few months has been in a tussle with the BJP led government of India over the reservation issues. Things took a turn for the worse when Patel openly instigated his associates to disrupt the cricketing activities in Rajkot. This is done in order to intimidate the government of India.
Patel recently had made his intentions clear when he said, “Saurashtra Cricket Association (SCA) should clarify on why they declared that all tickets are sold in spite of the fact that many tickets yet remain unsold”. “PAAS will block the way of both the teams of India and South Africa to the stadium on the match day and we will also cordon the entire stadium,” said Patel.
Also, in Rajkot as many as 2000 extra police officers have been deployed to ensure the smooth functioning of things.
