India does’t have a good record in away test matches and recent tours of India have also proved that. Here we take a look at away venues where India has won most number of Test matches-
|West Indies – Queen’s Park Oval, Port of Spain, Trinidad||12||3||3||6|
|Zimbabwe – Queens Sports Club, Bulawayo||2||2||0||0|
|Bangladesh – Shere Bangla National Stadium, Mirpur, Dhaka||2||2||0||0|
|Bangladesh – Bangabandhu National Stadium, Dhaka||3||2||0||1|
|New Zealand – Eden Park, Auckland||5||2||1||2|
|England – Headingley, Leeds||6||2||3||1|
|Australia – Melbourne Cricket Ground||11||2||8||1|
|West Indies – Sabina Park, Kingston, Jamaica||11||2||6||3|
|England – Lord’s, London||17||2||11||4|
Stat updated till August 1, 2014
There have been only 9 away venues where India has won 2 or more Test matches. The best being 3 at Queen’s Park Oval in West Indies. After which there are 8 other grounds with 2 wins each.
Though venues such as Lord’s or Melbourne have made it to the list with 2 wins but the number of matches played at these venues which is 17 and 11 respectively is way too high for a record to be proud of.
Let’s hope in the coming times India can make this record better.
