By captaining in today’s first T20 match at Florida today, MS Dhoni breaks Ricky Pointing record of captaining the most of number of matches for country. MS Dhoni has now captained India in 325 matches in international cricket. While Ricky pointing captained Australia in 324 matches.

Graeme Smith, Stephen Fleming and Allan Border were only captains are other captains who captained their teams in international cricket.

MS Dhoni is one of the best captains that India has ever had. He has led to India to many historic win including T20 World Cup in 2007, World Cup in 2011 and Champions Trophy 2013 in England. Under his captaincy he also led India to number 1 ranked team in test matches.

MS Dhoni retired from test matches in 2015. He captained India in 90 test matches. His ability to stay calm under pressure is one of the best qualities that MS Dhoni. Under his captaincy he also led India to semi finals of ICC World Cup 2015 and also ICC World Cup T20 in 2016. In One day internationals MS Dhoni has won 107 matches in 194 matches.

MS Dhoni is considered one of the best finishers in shorter formats especially in T20 and ODI format. He could not finish off the match in first T20 match against West Indies at Florida.
