Mahendra Singh Dhoni has been superb with his captaincy of late and India has successfully qualified for the semi finals of the World Cup by being unbeaten. They have had a comprehensive victory over Bangladesh in the quarter finals of late where they defeated Bangladesh by a margin of 109 runs.

The former Indian captain, Kapil Dev lauded Dhoni’s brave leadership so far in the tournament and he feels of the fact that it is the Indian captain’s confidence in his players’ ability that made them believe that they can retain their title this time.

India are undefeated in this tournament and won 11 straight wins combining the previous World Cup and this World Cup so far.

The man who led India for their maiden World Cup triumph back in 1983 credits MS Dhoni for the clinical show.

He further stated that most of the players have played under his leadership for quite some time now and they seem to have a real connection with their skipper, Dhoni.

Also, as a matter of fact, India have managed to bowl out their opposition in each of their seven matches in the World Cup so far. Prior to the World Cup, India had worries about their bowling strengths but their bowling turned out to be one of their prime strengths in the World Cup.

Mohammad Shami is one of the leading wicket takers in the tournament with 17 wickets. All the bowlers performed really well and each of them is much aware of the job assigned to them. Kapil further mentioned that Dhoni is an excellent leader and manages his troops extremely well.

Kapil Dev also stated of the fact that Dhoni’s hold on the team is pretty much evident from his body language and also from his constant interaction with the players. He also added that it is perhaps the confidence in the ability of the players that is helping the entire team to perform to their fullest potential and this is what gives them the respective belief to go all the way to retain the cup.
