Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s retirement from Tests not only amused the whole world, but also team director Ravi Sashtri who said that he was baffled after he heard Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s decision. Mahendra Singh Dhoni had not even stated it to his family.

Ravi Shastri complimented Mahendra Singh Dhoni terming his retirement as valiant and also said that there was no crack between Virat Kohli and him. Undoubtedly it was, an unforeseen decision, but a fearless one. In his admiration, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has moved up by miles. He has not waited to finish 100 Tests miles and all such pointless statistical data. He did not want any farewell fanfare. That shows his fearless aggressive character. He is dissimilar and pretty exceptional. Ravi Shastri said to Ayaz Memon as reported by Asian Age that we have no idea of the respect Mahendra Singh Dhoni commands, from the entire squad including Virat, administrators, and support staff.

The former India skipper went on to share his view on what made Mahendra Singh Dhoni dissimilar from other cricketers. Ravi Shastri added that the serenity given his dramatic rise to stardom, the way he managed egos as skipper, consistency of presentation and total dedication to the cause of Indian cricket. Actually, the way he directed himself over a decade in all aspects. He thinks he has enough cricket left in him to play ODI and T-20 cricket like a king.

Ravi Shastri trusts that through a little bit of luck the result against Australia in the series could have been dissimilar. He was also not too disturbed by Virat Kohli’s aggression. He said, that is his own personality. He is positive, aggressive, and passionate. But he is also ready to walk the talk. He is only 26 years old with the warm blood and still getting used to captaincy.

When Ravi Shastri was asked about the future of Indian cricket he felt that here is lot of hard work still to be done. They have to get or evolve bowlers who get 20 wickets regularly. The most crucial thing is they have got a positive mindset.
