The Bangladesh pacer Mustafizur Rahman will have an early exit from the Indian Premier League (IPL) as he is set to fly back home on April 25 and will travel with the team to Sussex.
Though Mustafizur has only played one game in this season till now but he was one of the best bowlers for the team last year and could have got more chances ahead this year.
Sunrises Hyderabad was expecting an early exit of Rahman but this is quite surprising for the franchise itself. This year though Hyderabad pacers have performed quite well in Rahman’s absence.
So, it might not be a big loss for the team considering the fact that other seamers are doing well for the team.
Earlier, the Sunrisers Hyderabad team management waited for Mustafizur Rahman to join the squad as he played his first game on April 12 against Mumbai Indians.
However, he did not have a great outing, as he went wicketless and even conceded 34 runs.
Last year, Mustafizur played a total of 16 games where he scalped 17 wickets at an economy rate of 6.90. He received high praises for his great performance. This year though has not been a good one for him and he might not get another chance now.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh has announced their squad for the Champions Trophy 2017. Shafiul Islam has been recalled to the side.
As per the schedule, Bangladesh will face hosts England in the first game of the ICC tournament on June 1 before taking on Australia and New Zealand on June 5 and 9 respectively.
Before the tournament, Bangladesh will undergo a preparatory camp in Sussex and will also participate in a tri-series involving hosts Ireland and New Zealand as the two other teams.
In the other news, it is learnt that Shakib al Hasan will render his services to franchise Kolkata Knight Riders till May 4 before joining the national camp in Ireland ahead of the start of the series.
