Well, this appears to be a most appropriate decision taken by Muttiah Muralitharan. The former Sri Lankan off spinner, after contributing substantially in the IPL for seven years as a dependable cricketer, has now given his acceptance for becoming the bowling coach of one of a prominent franchise, Sunrisers Hyderabad. During his seven years of close and worthwhile contribution in the IPL as a player, he had been associated with three different franchises viz. Chennai Super Kings, Kochi Tuskers Kerala and Royal Challengers Bangalore.
The team management of Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad has revealed this new on their twitter account. For the supporters and fans of Sunrisers Hyderabad the news that Muttiah Muralitharan has been appointed as the bowling coach and team mentor of for the 2015 IPL season will provide a big relief as of late their performance has not been noteworthy.

This 42-year-old veteran cricketer who has already retired from International cricket with 800 Test wickets and 534 ODI wickets has a nice record of picking up 63 wickets in 66 IPL games. He has an excellent economy rate of 6.69. He also achieved tremendous success while he was a part of CSK as the team had won the title in both 2010 and 2011.
When CSK won the Champions League T20 in South Africa in 2010, Muralitharan’s role was much appreciated. Taking a very timely decision Murali ended his playing career at the end of the 2014 IPL season as he was not getting regular opportunities for RCB during the season.
Let us hope that the Sunrisers Hyderabad would achieve new glories under his leadership.
