The former BCCI President, who has been exiled from the Presidential post for the charges related to corruption brought against him, N. Srinivasan has been elected as the President of the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association(TNCA) on Sunday.

It is quite unexpected as well as surprising to many as this man has been elected strangely with no opposition. He was clearly unopposed. This is the 14th consecutive year, when he is elected as the President of Tamil Nadu Cricket Association.

Also this has been the scenario for TNCA for the past 10 years or so. There has been no significant opposition to Srinivasan for the presidential post. And all the sitting office bearers and executive committee members were elected unopposed during the 84th annual general body meeting of the TNCA.

It is a remarkable event that a person has been elected as the President of a State’s Cricket Board for consecutive years. Never in the history has such an incident occurred.

Srinivasan has been removed from the BCCI Presidential post just prior to the IPL and for that reason, Sunil Gavaskar was appointed as the IPL President for the time being. Although, this man has been removed to some extent from BCCI, yet he is ruling the TNCA quite convincingly.

But it is also a fact that has to be admitted that plenty of South Indian cricketers have made it to the Indian squad during his regime. Some even questioned about his biasedness to South Indian cricketers.

Other officials to the TNCA board have also been elected unopposed and following are other office bearers elected unopposed:

Vice Presidents: U Prabhakar Rao, Kalpathi S Aghoram, S Raghavan, P S Raman, R Kanakarajan and V Ramesh.

Secretary: Kasi Viswanathan, Jt Secretary: R I Palani, Assistant Secretary: R S Ramaswamy, Treasurer: V P Narasimhan.

Executive Committee: K Sriram, K S Shankar, G C Dangi, P Anand, C G Anandaram, K Murali, Adam Sait, K Mohan and Keshav Sriraman.
