Nation’s Heroes: Pakistan Cricket Team Welcomed In A Festive Mood

Pakistan, the cricket-starved nation, finally had their moment of glory arrive after nearly a 6-7 years of turbulent times. The side, led by Sarfraz Ahmed, created history at the Kia Oval London by finishing up as the triumphant side against India in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2017.

It was special win which was achieved in dominant fashion after starting as the least fancied side. 18 days after the start, they now leave England with a changed reputation. From being called a failing ODI unit to becoming the Champion of Champions, it was a great experience for them overall.

The cricket world is in awe and surprise since the night the Men in Green celebrated the victory on the winner’s podium wearing the ceremonial white coat. As a sweet aftermath, Joyous fans spread madness on the streets of London.

But, a bigger celebration awaited back home where a larger clan of fans thronged the airport waiting for their newly crowned champions. The arrival was marked by an early Eid celebrations by the Pakistanis. Finally, when they arrived the scenes became unbelievably wild.

Sarfraz Ahmed emerged with the trophy. This was a sight for the craving fans who were desperately waiting for this day. The other team members slowly began coming out of the airport area. Fans waiting with raised the flags showered flowers and mobbed the jubilant cricketers.

Babar Azam, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Hafeez, teenage Shadab Khan all had a tough time getting through the mob and reaching their respective cars waiting for them. There were pushes, some tried to touch them while a bunch of others took selfies. Friends and family members of the squad member waited patiently.

Firecrackers, dance, slogans and a 70-foot national flag- in a nutshell, it was total chaos, but with a fell of happiness inside. The players weren’t bothered at all. With a wide grin on the face, they soaked in the ‘once in a lifetime glorious moment’ before finally heading straight out of the airport.’

It was all fun and the memories of this day will last for a long time.
