Never had problems with the Australian board: Muralitharan

The highest wicket-taker in Test cricket and the bowling giant Muttiah Muralitharan who had some unforgettable experience against the Australia is now a day’s busy teaching spin lessons to the Aussie bowlers. Murali clearly says that he has no problem with the board as there are only one or who persons who accused of throwing the ball and this doesn’t stop him from teaching lessons to their boys.

“I never had a problem with the Australian cricket board, players, or their people in general. It was just one or two individuals who made this accusation that I ‘throw’ the ball, and I proved them wrong. You’ve got to move on in life. If you carry grudges, you spoil your present and future. At the end of the day, I’m a professional,” Muralitharan told TOI.

Murali revisited the Melbourne test where he was interrupted twice by the umpire during the Test match. This was not all as again umpire Ross Emerson (Australian) interrupted Murali. The captain of the team Arjun Ranatunga was furious over this and was seen exchanging words with the umpire. Later the Lankan team also protested against this but the matter became bad to worse when the Australian president of that time John Howard openly held Murali for throwing the bowl.

Later the matter made a lot of noise in world cricket but later Murali’s action was cleared and he went onto to become most successful bowler in Test cricket.

Now when Murali is with Aussie boys giving them spin lessons, it is obvious which will be raised but Murali seemed to be ice cool on this matter and said, “Like most of the Australian cricketers of my era, I have a long relationship with him too. It’s also the media which makes the things difficult. As I said past is past. If you think about it, you can’t go into the future”.

The Australian team will kick off the international assignment with a Test match against the host team from July 26.
