With the loss to New Zealand in the second T20 match at Auckland, Sri Lanka has lost its number 1 ranking spot in the ICC T20 team rankings in the latest T20 team rankings announced just a few moments ago. Sri Lanka lost the first T20 match. West Indies, Australia and Sri Lanka have the same number of points which is 118.
West Indies are new number 1 in the ICC T20 team rankings, followed by Australia. Sri Lanka has slipped to number 3 in the rankings due to losing T20 series against New Zealand today.
The fourth place is occupied by England who is with 117 points, followed by South Africa who is with 115 points. The sixth and seven places are occupied by Pakistan and New Zealand who have the same number of points but Pakistan is ahead by decimal points. New Zealand won the series against Sri Lanka.
India slipped to eighth in the rankings but has a chance to climb up the ladder with 3 matches T20 series coming up against Australia later this month. The ninth place is occupied by Afghanistan who defeated Zimbabwe in the first T20 match at Sharjah. The last place is occupied by Bangladesh.
