New Zealand vs South Africa 2017: Wayne Parnell, Heinrich Klassen Released From Test Squad

South African team management have released fast bowler Wayne Parnell and wicketkeeper-batsman Heinrich Klassen from the Test squad. Both the players will now head back home. The decision was taken after both were not included in the squad for the third and final Test match against New Zealand at Hamilton.
Both Parnell and Klassen hadn’t featured in any of the three Tests, hence the management decided to release them.
Parnell didn’t get a chance to play after captain Faf du Plessis decided to retain Kagiso Rabada, Vernon Philander and Morne Morkel in all the three Test matches whereas the presence of Quinton de Kock in the team meant that there was no place for Klassen in the playing XI. However, he would have been the part of playing XI in Hamilton Test if de Kock wasn’t fit to be the part of the final game due to an injury in index finger but he passed the fitness test on the eve of the game and was included in the playing XI.
Earlier, the team management also sent back Chris Morris and Duanne Olivier back home after watching no possibility of these two making into playing XI.
