No Official Word On Shastri’s Appointment As Coach

The Board of Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) has denied the reports of Ravi Shastri being appointed as the Head Coach of Indian cricket team. The reports of Shastri being given the job came in the afternoon and the news soon caught attention from everyone. Though BCCI was yet to make an official announcement.
The board has now cleared that the meeting to discuss the new Head Coach is still underway and no one has been finalised as of yet.
Yesterday (July 11) BCCI bought some time to announce the new Head Coach due to two main factors. The first was the unavailability of Phil Simmons for the interview and the second one was CAC was yet to get the consent of Virat Kohli, who is in the UK at the moment. It was learned that BCCI contacted Kohli via Skype and the Indian skipper told about his choice then.
But now with BCCI dismissing the reports of Shastri being given the job, we have to wait for few more days before the apex announce the new Head Coach of Indian cricket team, who will be taking on the reins from Anil Kumble.
There can be a case when Indian team travel to Sri Lanka sans any Head Coach for the first half of the tour i.e. the Test series. Though nothing can be confirmed as of yet due to delay in procedure from the board.
