Zimbabwe interim coach Makhaya Ntini showed his anger after the second defeat against India in just three days. India won their second ODI by nine wickets. Makhaya Ntini wanted to hang himself after watching his team’s poor performance.
“I almost hanged myself. If there was a tomato tree outside I would have hanged myself in that tomato tree, ” Ntini said after the match. “It’s no good. We have experienced players with us who can easily read the game. We were in the perfect position,” he added.
After taking over as interim coach earlier this month Ntini told, “We want to compete with the big boys. We’re creating a new venture here. We want to make sure that this country gets to play more games, and if you send us a team that is not your strongest team, we’re going to put them under the carpet so that they go home and tell people that they need to send their strongest team.”
Not only Makhaya Ntini showed his anger, but also few supporters in the ground protested against their team. They held up banners and mocked their players.
“I heard some of the words that came out and they’re obviously not nice. We’re representing our country and they’re as disappointed as we are. We want them to stand by us when things aren’t going well so we can pull in the same direction, because otherwise we can’t achieve anything,” Zimbabwe cricketer Sibanda said.
