‘Oh My God’: Archana Vijaya Reacts To Viral Photo With Virat Kohli

Indian Premier League host Archana Vijaya has blasted the media after a picture of her with Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli went viral for all the wrong reasons.A few days ago, a picture was doing the rounds on social media with claims that the India skipper was staring at Archana’s ripped jeans.
“But this time a photo has surfaced in social media which will not please Anushka for sure. Virat known for his timing of shots on the field has now become a victim of a badly-timed photo. In this photo, he is seen gazing at IPL anchor Archana Vijaya’s ripped jeans. We wouldn’t want to be in Virat Kohli’s shoes when he explains this one to Anushka,” a report from news outlet DNA stated.
The report was absolutely meaningless as Kohli was clearly looking at the cue card kept on Archana’s legs and the IPL host has now expressed her utter surprise over the way the whole scenario was turned into an unwanted and unpleasant news.
“My first thought was: Oh my God, are people trying that hard to make headlines? Are people so starved to bring people down?” she said in an interview with India Today.
“We were playing a round of rapid fire and the poor guy was just trying to cheat by looking at the cue card. It was the cue card he was looking at,” she said, adding that the fact that serious media houses also ran stories on the picture was disappointing.
She further praised the Royal Challengers star for his phenomenal growth as a batsman in the past few years.
“Virat has had such a remarkable growth as a cricketer. We all admire his amazing discipline. He has such clarity of thought and looks at what people did,” she said.
Archana, who missed the previous edition of the IPL, revealed how Kohli and she get along so well.
“When he saw me, he asked, ‘Dude, where were you last year? Welcome back!’ That’s the sort of ease we have,” she said.
She concluded her interview by claiming that the Indian women are forced to work harder because of the way they are seen in the society.
“In India, women are kind of objectified so you have to make your workload harder. It’s a constant challenge and the mindset needs to change. And the change needs to start at the top,” she opined.
