After a painful defeat at the hands of the Australians, The PCB finally have some good news. It has managed to sell all its broadcasting rights for approximately $150 million.
It is said that the bid was made jointly by the Ten network and the Pakistan Television Corporation (PTV) and it was accepted by the bid committee of the board.
However a major part of this deal involves Pakistan playing India in a series deemed to be home for Pakistan but on a neutral venue. If Pakistan do not play this series, they may end up loosing atleast 60% of the revenue.
It is said that the entire deal is based on the two series that Pakistan have agreed to play against India in the next span of 5 years. The source also added that even in the long term scheme the agreement was reached after India declined to play a series which gave the PCB a loss of 70% of the revenue.
India have not played Pakistan in a bi-lateral Test series after 2007 however they toured India in 12-13 for a short ODI series. However the PCB did not earn anything from the last bilateral series.
