The English Cricket Board (ECB) on Tuesday announced that Pakistan will tour England in 2016. This is Pakistan’s first tour of England since their spot-fixing scandal which took place in 2010.
Pakistan are scheduled to play four Test matches, five ODI’s and a T20 international. Pakistan will start their tour on July 3 with two warm-up games before the first Test. Pakistan will play their Test matches in Lord’s, Old Trafford, Edgbaston and The Oval. The tour will conclude on September 7 with a T20I in Old Trafford.
Before Pakistan, Sri Lanka will arrive for the tour which includes three Test matches, five ODI’s and a T20 Series.
Sri Lanka will kickstart the English summer with three Tests, with the first being in Headingley. Chester-le-Street will host a Test for the first time after 2013 while the third and final Test will be in Lord’s.
Sri Lanka will also play two ODIs in Ireland before signing the tour off with five ODIs and a T20I against England.Sri Lanka will be touring England once again after a gap of 1 year and the last time when they toured they emerged victorious in both ODI’s and Tests. They registered a historic Test series win after 16 years.
