Australia won the first ODI of the series and took the lead 1-0 in the series. Today they started playing the match for registering the series. 2nd ODI is played at Dubai.

Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first. The pitch was dry at initially. Raza Hasan is back from injury and made his ODI debut, he slots in for Anwar Ali. Richardson joined the spell with Johnson looking for wicket, but Ahmed was dominating over these bowlers. After some overs Sarfraz caught the rhythm and joined the cracker party with Ahmed. They were rotating strike quite fast. Faulkner and Doherty came into the action to break this partnership. Even Lyon also joined them. After 12 overs Pakistan were at 53 runs for no loss of wickets. The stadium flooded by fours and sixes. After the 22d over both openers got their half century. In 26th over Doherty caught Ahmed into his trap. Ahmed Shehzad contributed 61 runs. Asad Shafiq came in to the crease. Sarfraz got out by Johnson, scoring 65 runs. At the end of 30 over Pakistan were at 145 runs for the loss of 2 wickets.

Shafiq and Misbah were at crease then. They were trying to build a big partnership, but Glenn Maxwell spoiled their plan by taking Misbah’s wicket. Umar Akmal came to the crease replacing Misbah. After this wicket Australia started dominating over Pakistan. Akmal did not clicked today as Johnson did not give him chance to stand against them. At the end of 38th over Pakistan were at 179 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. Shafiq and Fawd were rotating strike quite well but Lyon got Shafiq into his trap. Shafiq scored 29 runs. Afridi came into the crease to change the game. They were playing cautiously but Afridi got out at 44th over by Johnson. Afridi contributed only 2 runs. After the end of 44th over Pakistan were at 200 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Riaz and Fawd were at crease then. Richardson got him in 46th over. In that over debutant Raza Hasan run out by Smith. He scored a duck in his first match. Alam and Babar were at crease. After the end of 48th over Pakistan were at 212 runs for the loss of 8 wickets. In 49th over Faulkner got Babar into his trap. In the last over Richardson run out Mohammad Irfan. After the end of 50th over Pakistan set a wall of 215 runs for Asutralia.

Raza Hasan has the new ball on his debut. Warner and Finch were the opening batsmen for the Australia. Hasan was bowling quiet well. In the first over Hasan flighted well outside off, Finch pressed forward to defend and the ball turned from length to take the edge to go to slip, but the ball was not carried by Akmal. Hasan and Irfan were dominated by openers. Irfan took Finch’s wicket. It was outside off, Finch stayed back to defend it, the ball angled across after pitching on middle and the Pakistan players seem confident of an edge. It didn’t look like there was enough evidence to overturn the decision, but there was a noise for sure when the ball passed the bat. Finch contributed only 14 runs. In the 7th over Babar got a big one. Smith, the crucial player of the team got out by Babar. At the end of 7th over Australia were at 39 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Bailey and Warner were at crease then.

Bailey and Warner first played very cautiously then after some over they started firing from their end. At the end of 13th over Australia were at 72 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Hasan took the wicket of Warner in the 14th over. Warner scored 29 runs. Maxwell came to the crease. Maxwell gave a good momentum in the scoreboard. At the end of 20th over Australia were at 39 runs for the loss of 2 wickets. Bailey and Maxwell were looking for a big partnership and they were rotating strikes quite fast. In 30th over Maxwell got his half century. Shehzad broke this deadly partnership taking Bailey’s wicket. Bailey got run out. Faulkner and Maxwell pushing Australia towards the victory. Maxwell was playing magnificently then. After the end of 36th over they were at 174 runs for the loss of 4 wickets. In the 37th over Babar took the showman of the match, Maxwell. Haddin and Faulkner were at the crease. After the end of the 40th over Australia were at 202 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Faulkner played really well and won the match by hitting a four.
