Today was the last ODI of the 3 ODIs to be played between Pakistan and Australia in the UAE. Australia started the match today. In the innings we saw good things from both the sides. In the end Australia gave Pakistan a target of 232 runs to chase. Pakistan played at the required run rate. They lost wickets regularly but the runs kept coming but it wasn’t enough and Australia won the match by just 1 run. Here are the Hits and Flops of the match.

Hits of the Day

1. Steven Smith

Steven Smith played a crucial innings today. He played for most of the part of the innings and scored 77 runs. His runs really counted for Australia. Australia was losing wickets at regular intervals but he stood there and scored runs.

2. David Warner

David Warner also played wonderful innings today. He scored a half century today. He had two good partnerships, opening and 1st wicket. In the opening wicket partnership 48 runs were scored and in the 1st wicket partnership 54 runs.

3. Sohail Tanvir

Sohail Tanvir was the best bowler from the Pakistani side. He took 3 wickets today. Two of them were of set batsmen. In his 10 overs spell he gave away 40 runs with an economy rate of 4.

4. Asad Shafiq

Asad Shafiq played really well for Pakistan and scored a half century today. It was because of his efforts that Pakistan was able to score runs. He had a 74 runs partnership with Sohaib Maqsood which really added up for Pakistan.

Flops of the Day                    

1. Aaron Finch

Aaron Finch once again featured in our Flops list. He featured 3 consecutive times i.e. in all the 3 matches. He is really struggling with his form in this tour. Today he scored very little runs, only 18 runs before being dismissed by Anwar Ali.

2. George Bailey

George Bailey, the Australian skipper was dismissed for a duck. He is not setting good examples for his teammates. He must improve his batting and bring out all he has in the last match between Australia and Pakistan in the only T20 match.

3. Mohammad Irfan

Mohammad Irfan was very expensive bowler today. He gave away 61 runs in his 10 overs spell at an economy rate of 6.1. Although he picked up 1 wicket today but the runs he conceded was very high compared to other bowlers.

4. Ahmed Shehzad

Ahmed Shehzad played very slowly today. It was also evident from his strike rate. He had a strike rate of 63.4. He scored only 26 runs when Pakistan was banking on him.
