Champions League 2014 is all set to begin in three days and the tournament is filled with T20 superstars from across the World. This edition has many big names including MS Dhoni, Kieron Pollard, Glenn Maxwell, Mohammad Hafeez etc. But many leading T20 specialists across the globe are all set to give the tournament a miss. Here are the list of few names who will miss the tournament.

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli, who had a poor tour to England will be itching to get some playing time and get back to form ahead of the West Indies series and a long tour to Australia which also includes the World Cup. Kohli, who leads Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL has missed out on a chance in CLT20 after his star studded team failed to qualify in the top 4 of the 2014 IPL.

AB de Villiers

AB de Villiers is another star player who missed out on the chance of playing in the CLT20 after his IPL side Royal Challengers Bangalore failed to make it to the top 4 of the IPL. His team from South Africa, Titans too failed to make it to the finals.

Dale Steyn

Steyn Gun, as he is known by his fans is yet another name that will be missed in the CLT20. His IPL side Sunrisers Hyderabad finished in the fifth position and his home team Titans failed to qualify for the semi-finals of Ram Slam Twenty20 challenge.

Chris Gayle

Chris Gayle has made the Twenty20 format his own and plays T20 cricket all over the world. Inspite of playing for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sydney Thunders, Jamaica Tallawahs, Chris Gayle failed to make it to the CLT20. He is one of the batsman the tournament will miss badly.

Rohit Sharma

Mumbai Indians skipper and Indian Opener Rohit Sharma, who led his side to victory last year won’t be a part of the extravaganza as he suffered a finger injury during India’s tour to England and hen recovering from that, he was diagnosed with an injured shoulder that will make him sit out of the tournament.

Apart from these names, the tournament is all set to miss India’s dashing Southpaw Yuvraj Singh, Aussies’ destructive trio of David Warner, Shane Watson and newly appointed T20 captain Aaron Finch. Bangladesh’s Shakib Al Hasan, who can represent Barbados Tridents and Kolkata Knight Riders in the CLT20 is not taking part in the tournament because of the ban imposed on him by the BCB.
