Amit Mishra, Indian leg spinner, has been summoned by the Bengaluru police after the woman has charged Amith Mishra on the ground of sexual assault. The incident is said to have taken place on 25th of September and the woman filed the FIR on 27th of September.
Sandeep Patil, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), Central Division, Bengaluru, has said that they have filed an FIR against Amit Mishra and a copy of it has been sent to the BCCI. He added that they have had a chat with the employees of the hotel and have collected the CCTV footage. Also, they have asked Amit Mishra to appear and give his statement to the police.
Mishra has been charged with the Indian penal code sections 354 and 328. 354 is charged on assault against woman and 328 is charged when someone hurts other, with an intent of an offence.
Amit Mishra was in Bengaluru during his training here and the woman has said that she was sexually assaulted by him when she entered Amit Mishra’s room. He has been asked to meet the police within a week or strict action will be taken against him.
Amit Mishra is a part of the Indian team for the first 2 Test matches against India.
