Politician Ramdas Athavale Demands 25 Percent Reservation For Dalits In Indian Team; Also Hints That Kohli and Yuvraj Fixed The Final

Cricket in Indian is not only a religion but also a subject for a massive troll. Both the things go hand in hand. While few ‘professional’ nerds troll the game in the funniest form available, some people use their lack of knowledge to stay in limelight.

We find the first kind on social media mainly on Facebook and Twitter, the second kinds in the form of politicians who have no connection with sports whatsoever. The words ‘sports’, let alone, cricket, might be alien to them entirely but making a controversial opinion about has always been a duty of theirs.

Union minister Ramdas Athavale has emerged as one such character who has made remarks that are very hard to understand. He feels that that Team Indian deliberately lost to Pakistan in the finals of the Champions Trophy 2017. Not only that, he also wants an investigation to run on players including skipper Virat Kohli to find out their legitimacy as national cricketers.

“Virat Kohli, who hits centuries everywhere, Yuvraj Singh and other batsmen who normally are very good failed against Pakistan in a very important match. I feel they went in with a mindset to lose the match.”

“I feel suspicious about Match fixing and an investigation must be made in order to clarify this fact.”

The loss to arch rivals Pakistan was tough and unexpected. People were hurt but there was no option but to move on. A majority of us did move on but a handful were cribbing, even many days after the loss.

But Ramdas Athavale’s rant has made us believe that there are still few who very upset with the loss.

“The loss against Pakistan was a shame. We have defeated many times. Indian players have betrayed us.”

Eventually, he made demands to not only include but also keep a 25 per cent reservation aside for the cricketers belonging to the Dalit community.

“Players from the Dalit community should be included in the team. I demand 25 per cent reservation for Dalits in the Indian team.”
