Poll Commentary: Ravi Shastri Trolled By PM Narendra Modi

Social Media users hardly forgive those who commit a blunder whether for their typographical error or when it comes to digging the facts, they literally take those who are having an off-day in the virtual world to the cleaners like a batsman does to a bowler on a feather bed.
This time it was country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself who took the advantage of goof up from the former Indian cricketer Ravi Shastri when he summarised the BJPs victory like the epic contest in the game of cricket.
The Ex-Team India Director Shastri was trolled by Modi following the congratulatory message on micro-blogging site Twitter from the cricketer-turned-commentator when he stated ‘300-mark’ on the Uttar Pradesh clean sweep of the Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) in the recently concluded polling before stating it has gone down to the ‘wire’ on which Modi referred it actually did not go down to the ‘wire’ adding ‘democracy is the real winner’.
The 54-year-old Shastri, who is known for using the jargons – much to the delight of his followers has used the term ‘tracer bullet’ which he often use when a batsman smash the boundary that whiz past the fielder in the ground.
Earlier, Shastri who played for India was in the news for the argument with former Indian skipper.
Shastri has been in news for many reasons in the past. Following the irreparable error, in the third One-day International at Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Shastri in the post-match presentation mistakenly thought Ben Stokes took the catch instead of Sam Billings on the penultimate delivery of the 50th over when Kedar Jadhav was sent back to pavilion and eventually India lost the match by five runs.
Shastri was later on corrected by England all-rounder while speaking at the presentation.
The Mumbaikar had played 150 One-day Internationals and 80 Tests for India in which he had amassed 6938 runs.
Here’s the tweet:
Thank you. UP polls did not quite go down to the wire. But, at the end of the day democracy is indeed the real winner! 🙂 https://t.co/suoTqZtXit

Congratulations @BJP4India on the landslide win in UP. The pair of PM @narendramodi & @AmitShah went past 300-mark like a #TracerBullet
