Ojha had decided to switch his base in July and had also communicated his desire to the CAB officials. There was a delay in response from CAB, which led to Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) asking BCCI for help. As soon as the deadline for transfer came close, the matter got the limelight, and finally, Sourav Ganguly, the President of CAB decided not to allow Ojha to be released.
From then, Ojha was not in touch with the officials, due to some family reasons as well. A few days back, he wrote a letter to CAB office and now has been permitted to play for Hyderabad, just a day ahead of the start of Ranji Trophy,
“We had received a letter from Pragyan, where he requested for the NOC to play for Hyderabad. I discussed the matter internally with the President (Sourav Ganguly) and the association has considered sympathetically based on his request,” CAB joint secretary Avishek Dalmiya told Sportstar.

Ojha switched his base to Bengal before the start of 2015/16 season. He had a tremendous first season with Bengal but could only manage ten wickets in six Ranji games next year. He performed well in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, but Ranji performance was a matter of concern. He also went unsold in the IPL auction 2017.
Now Ojha is set to play for Hyderabad, but he might miss the opener from October 6 and will only be brought back for the following contests.
Apart from Ojha, the Ambati Rayudu led Hyderabad side will miss on the services of Mohammed Siraj and Chama Milind. Siraj will be busy with his India A commitments whereas Milind is suffering from an injury.
