Indian Cricketer Praveen Kumar’s gold chain was alleged to be stolen from the dressing room of the Vidarbha Cricket Association during a match, police said on Tuesday.
The Chain is worth of around Rs 8 lakh (As of the present Gold Rate). The incident taken place on Monday evening and the complaint was filed on Tuesday, they said.
According to Indian medium pacer, he had left his 250 gram gold chain on the chair at the VCA dressing room before heading to the ground to play for Uttar Pradesh against Rajasthan for the Vijay Hazare One-Day cricket tournament.
“After the match, Kumar went straight to the hotel but later realised that he had forgotten to collect the gold chain from the dressing room. He immediately informed the VCA officials about it. However, a search by them proved futile,” police said.
President of Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA), Prakash Dixit confirmed about the incident and said that the police has started their investigation.
