“Proud” Elder Brother Krunal Pandya Congratulates Hardik For Winning The Test Berth

The Story

Seam bowling all-rounder Hardik Pandya today took another giant leap in his career after he was handed over his Test debut in the first match of the three match series against Sri Lanka at Galle. He became the 289th player to make his Test debut for India and was handed over the Test cap by skipper Virat Kohli.

Pandya has taken huge strides in his short one and half-year-old career after first making an impression in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Stellar performances in the 2015 season saw him graduate to the T20 side in a matter of just a couple of months after the culmination of that season.

Later, he made it to the ODI side and quickly cemented his place in the limited overs set-up. There were a couple of times when he struggled to keep his place in the side but that just a brief struggle.

Proud “Bade Bhaiya”

Hardik’s cricketing career has taken a new delightful turn. This is certainly a great sign that captain Kohli trusts him as a long term option on the Indian side. Pandya has been waiting for his debut for some time. He was a part of the squad during the Border Gavaskar series and has been performing well at the India A level. Going by these trends, it was almost assured that he would likely make a cut this time after his name was included in the touring party for Sri Lanka.

Hardik’s elder brother, Krunal Pandya, was naturally delighted to see his younger brother get elevated to the highest level of international cricket. The left arm spinning all-rounder, who plays with Hardik for Mumbai Indians, is currently touring South Africa with the India A side and delivered a congratulatory tweet for his brother.

He tweeted:
