The second edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL) wrapped up successfully on Sunday with Peshawar Zalmi trouncing Quetta Gladiators by 58 runs at Lahore to be crowned as the champions of PSL 2017 in front of 27,000 cricket-starved fans.
Interestingly, PSL received its online viewership from its neighbouring country India, which further surpassed the web viewership of the country, that organized the Twenty20 league in United Arab Emirates.
According to the statistics released, India left the hosts of PSL behind as 28.22 per cent viewers turned out to watch the game from India, which was followed by Pakistan itself with the percentage of 21.47.
Around 15.8 per cent viewers from Oman watched the online streaming followed by USA with 12.4 percent and 4.67 from Singapore.
According to the report, Cricket Gateway was not among the top live streamers from Pakistan.
Kamran Akmal was the top-scorer in PSL 2017 with 353 runs and was declared as the Man of the Tournament. Further, the list was also dominated by Babar Azam (Karachi Kings), who scored 291 runs.
In his recent interview to Geo Tv, PSL chairman Najam Sethi claimed the television ratings were higher than the previous edition, who also hopes the final in Lahore would revive cricket in Pakistan.
