R. Ashwin to Set up His Cricket Academy in Dubai

Cricket as a sport has a tremendous untapped market in the Middle East, and in the coming years, we could witness several teams from this region, bursting on to the international scene. The fact that Pakistan plays its “home” games in UAE, has contributed immensely to the game spreading in the Gulf regions.
In a bid to further dwell on the monetary aspects of cricket developing in the Middle East, India’s champion off-spinner, R. Ashwin is all set to launch his own cricket academy in Dubai. The towering offie already has an academy back home in Chennai, named as GenNext Cricket Academy, and is now looking to further expand the reach of his academy.
The all-rounder has zeroed down on Dubai as the next destination and in the near future, his institute will be fully functional in the most diverse town in the Middle East. Speaking about his Academy to be launched in Dubai, Ashwin said,
“This partnership is definitely going to contribute to continuous improvement in coaching techniques with a flavour of innovation and drive to excel. This would open the door for the budding youngsters to be inspired by the current playing cricketers apart from learning the tricks of the trade and lessons the hard way.”
Ashwin in other news will be touring England, as an overseas player for Worcestershire while India plays the limited overs series against Sri Lanka. This is seen as a fine move by Ashwin, in a bid to add to his versatility.
