Nowadays it is well discussed that he might be the longest serving coach of Indian cricket team in future for his brilliant style of guiding his current under-19 boys towards the success. But drawing surprise, Rahul Dravid, the ace Indian batsman and the present coach of under-19 Indian cricket team, said, “I am not at all thinking of coaching on the long term basis. At the moment, it can only be said that I am coach of under-19 Indian team till the World Cup in January.” Simultaneously, ‘The Wall’ of Indian cricket revealed that he is not at all curious for the job of coaching of the senior Indian cricket team in future.

When asked whether he has difference between the style of his batting and coaching Dravid added, “Preparation was the key ingredient during my playing days. Now also, I have stressed on the preparation of the boys so that they can excel in the match. And I have seen and heard of many junior team coaches who have got habit of sending instructions to his boys during the match. But I never do that as I try to reply on the extensive training and preparation of my boys at the nets.”

Commenting on whether he is enjoying the role of coaching, Dravid explained, “Yes, it has been exciting for me to groom the young cricketers. At least I have got opportunity to give back my country something.” Asked about specific preparation for the under-19 World Cup, Dravid clarified, “At the moment I am in a process to set up a perfect combination for the tournament. Let us see what happens.”
