Ranji Trophy 2017-18: Baroda Extends Lead against Mumbai; Cheteshwara Pujara Misses Double Hundred

In a Group C game, Deepak Hooda-led Baroda has tightened the grip on hosts Mumbai on day two of the ongoing fourth round of the Ranji Trophy 2017-18.
The visitors rose to the occasion, as opening batsmen Aditya Waghmode smashed a fine hundred. He struck 13 boundaries and a maximum after facing 309 balls to amass 138 runs.
When stumps were drawn, Baroda batsman Swapnil Singh was batting on 63 off 136 balls, as Abhijit Karambelkar faced 26 balls to score eight runs.
Mumbai skipper Aditya Tare used seven bowlers and four picked one-wicket each.
In the Group B fixture, Pankaj Singh-led Rajasthan is struggling when they finished the day two on 74 for seven in 36 overs. Haryana skipper-led from the front to pick two wickets after conceding 19 runs in five overs.
For Rajasthan, Rajesh Bishnoi was the top-scorer with 15-ball 13, as hosts bowlers further made things miserable for the side.
In another Group B fixture, Saurashtra skipper Cheteshwar Pujara was dismissed by Siddharth Desai on 182 after facing 313 balls. The top-order batsman for Saurashtra smashed 24 boundaries in his brilliant knock.
In Rajkot, hosts posted 570, before Gujarat managed to score 45 in 14 overs. Skipper and wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel was batting in 29 off 45 and Priyank Panchal faced 41 balls to post 12 on board.
Group A:
After Karnataka registered mammoth 649 in the first innings total, Ishant Sharma led Delhi scored 20 in five overs.
At stumps of the day two in Pune, Railways posted 88 for no loss in 24 overs when stumps were withdrawn. Railways are trailing by 393 runs.
At day two stumps, Assam is trailing by 70 runs after posting 279 for six in 94 overs.
Saurabh Kumar was the pick of the bowlers, who bagged four wickets after giving away 54 runs in 28 overs.
Group B:
Jharkhand Vs. Jammu and Kashmir in Jamshedpur
After restricting Jammy and Kashmir on 376, hosts Jharkhand was 156 for five in 73 overs when stumps were drawn. For J&K, skipper Parvez Rasool and Mohammed Mudhasir bagged two wickets each.
Saurashtra Vs. Gujarat in Rajkot
Parthiv Patel-led Gujarat is trailing by 525 runs, as the visitors posted 45 for no loss in 14 overs. Earlier, batting first Saurashtra registered 570 on board.
Haryana Vs. Rajasthan in Rohtak
Rajasthan is trailing by 149 runs after reeling at 74 for seven in 36 overs. Earlier, Amit Mishra-led Haryana was restricted on 223.
Group C:
Tripura Vs. Andhra Pradesh in Agartala
After Andhra Pradesh posted 402 on board which further saw Tripura scored 68 for one in 31 overs. Samrat Singha is batting on 33 off 89 balls and Udiyan Singh faced 48 balls to score 16 runs, as visitors are trailing by 334 runs in first innings
For Andhra Pradesh, Bandaru Ayyappa was the only bowler, who took the solitary wicket of opening batsman Bishal Ghosh (11 off 49)
Baroda scored 376 in 115 overs to take the first innings lead to 205. Earlier, on the first-day hosts was skittled at 171.
Odisha Vs. Tamil Nadu in Cuttack
As Tamil Nadu declared their first innings on 530 for eight, Odisha managed to score 36 in 13 overs.
Group D:
Bengal Vs. Vidarbha in West Bengal
Following the first innings total of 499 from Vidarbha, the hosts in the form of Bengal was 89 for three in 24 overs. Lalit Yadav picked two wickets after conceding 13 runs in eight overs.
Himachal Pradesh Vs. Chhattisgarh in Dharamsala
Chhattisgarh going strong against Himachal Pradesh, as the visitors faced 120 overs to score 289 for six.
At day two stumps, Goa was 150 for six in 69.3 overs. Earlier, Services posted 263, as the visitors are trailing by 113 runs.
