Indian spin ace Ravichandran Ashwin has come up with a clarification after people started taking a dig at him following his comments that the two year hiatus of Chennai Super Kings will benefit them in the long run and their absence might bring that excitement among the fans who were missing one of the most successful sides in the tournament very badly.
“I think the two-year hiatus for CSK probably increases its value much like what it did for Manchester United when the air crash happened (in 1958 when eight of their players died). I don’t know if it’s in the same league but surely people in Chennai and fans across the world are waiting for CSK to return. I hope it turns out to be a good comeback,” Ashwin had told Times of India earlier.
In his defence, Ashwin taking to his twitter handle wrote that all he wanted to say was that the two-year suspension will make the fans come in large numbers in the coming years which will, in the long run, help the tournament gain much higher status. “Guys please take the reporting with a pinch of salt with respect to the Munich tragedy and CSK. All I said was the break will make the fans turn up in numbers when the come back happens. Not required to blow it out of context.

In his last tweet, Ashwin wrote, “Now all those who hate me, please get off my mentions, we will catch-up sometime later when I get misquoted again. Thanks.” It is clear that Ashwin isn’t too much bothered about the scenario as he feels the general public like always is blowing it out of proportion. Meanwhile, the spin ace who is a part of the Dindugul Dragons in Tami Nadu Premier League (TNPL) will miss the majority of the season due to his national commitments.
Now all those who hate me, please get off my mentions, we will catch-up sometime later when I get misquoted again. Thanks🙏

He remained silent on India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka and the appointment of Ravi Shastri as the head coach of the national team. He was seen trying varieties of actions and deliveries during the Caribbean series and he conceded that it is perhaps the 10th time he changed his action as he is open to change and you can certainly expect anything from him.
