Ravichandran Ashwin has proved that he is one of the nicest guys in the game right now. The Indian off-spinner took to Twitter to congratulate Pakistani leg-spinner Yasir Shah who broke his record to become the fastest Asian and the joint second-fastest to reach the milestone of 100 wickets.
Before Shah, Ashwin held the record of the fastest Asian bowler to take 100 wickets. He reached the milestone in 18 Tests.
Congratulating the Pakistani bowler, Ashwin also wished him luck to do even well in the future. He tweeted:“Just a little late I guess, but very well done @Shah64Y.Double it up now.??”

Even before the match, Ashwin wished luck to Shah to break his record which received lavish praise from the fans of both sides.
The tensions have been escalating between the two neighbours following the Uri attacks in which 19 Indian soldiers were martyred. With politicians and cricket board hell bent on ending all ties between the two nations, Ashwin’s gesture is truly remarkable. Before Pakistan’s match against West Indies, Ashwin tweeted:
good luck, may the force be with him.He is such a delight to watch.

Meanwhile, Shah reached the milestone on day four of the first day-night Test match between Pakistan and West Indies in Dubai on Sunday. The leggie dismissed West Indies’ Miguel Cummins to reach to 100 wickets in his 17th Test match, the fastest by any Pakistan bowler. The overall record is held by England’s George Lohmann who reached the milestone in 16 matches.
