Ravichandran Ashwin Dodges Question On New Support Staff

The selection of new support staff for the Indian cricket team has become a national debate now and everyone is in talks whether Ravi Shastri should be given the support staff of his choice or not?
At present, there are two men in support staff in form of R Sridhar -fielding coach – and Sanjay Bangar – batting coach of Indian cricket team. Other than these two, there is no other name in the backroom staff as there is no bowling coach at present, a place which Shastri is looking forward to fulfilling with Bharat Arun. With the appointment of Rahul Dravid and Zaheer Khan put on hold as consultants and with Shastri to decide to their future, it is sure that he has all the rights to select an incoming man in the Indian dressing room. The picture regarding whether he will be given the staff of his choice or not will be cleared tomorrow on June 18 when Shastri meets BCCI officials, where he is expected to put up his choice.
Amidst all this confusion and all, Ravichandran Ashwin, the Indian all-rounder has denied any comments upon this matter as when asked upon appointment of Shastri as coach and him asking for his own staff, Ashwin said that it’s not something which comes under his jurisdiction,
“I think, the new coach or the new support staff, it does not come under my jurisdiction, it is not something I will take a call on. I am not being diplomatic, it will be unfair for me to pass a comment on that. Likewise always, the Indian team moves on, India moves on (and) we have to find out in course of time, how it is going,” Ashwin told PTI.
Meanwhile, Indian team is all set to travel Sri Lanka for a full-fledged series, which starts on July 26 with the first Test to be played at Galle International Stadium from July. Two Test matches, five ODIs and a lone T20I will follow. India will miss out on the services of Murali Vijay during the series, who has been ruled out as he is yet to recover from the wrist injury. He has been replaced by Shikhar Dhawan, who lost the race of the third opener to Abhinav Mukund. (Read Here: Virat Kohli Will Be The First Member In My Playing XI)
