Pakistan’s Raza Hasan is the latest sportsperson found to have failed the drug test. Reports suggest that Raza Hasan’s blood reports came back suggesting doses of cocaine. As of now, it is unclear what steps the concerned governing bodies are willing to take.

The 22-year old is a left arm orthodox spinner and has represented his country at the international level in T20 format so far.

Raza has so far debuted for Pakistan against Australia in the United Arab Emirates for the ODI game last year in October. Besides, he has played in 10 T20 international games so far and showed nothing but promise, until the inevitable dropping after he failed the dope test.

The dope test was carried out during the Pentangular Cup. It appears that Raza has been dropped, while Sohaib Maqsood, Junaid., Rizwan and Sohail Khan have been brought in.

Pakistan’s authorities have been encouraging the development of right spirit of the game for a while now, and no doubt this will be viewed as a major setback to the whole campaign.

Raza now stays in purgatory, unavailable for selection as Pakistan tour Bangladesh, starting on Friday, 17th of April with the likes of Muhammad Hafeez and Saeed Ajmal.
