Royal Challengers Bangalore welcomed Delhi Daredevils at their home ground Chinnaswamy Stadium in the 11th match of IPL. As expected the ground once again witnessed a high scoring game. Batting first RCB posted a huge target of 192 with the help of AB de Villiers’ and Virat Kohli’s half centuries. But unfortunately, for them, Quinton de Kock scored a magnificent century to take his team home and deny them a second win on the trot. The win helped Delhi to win two games in a row after losing the opening game against Kolkata Knight Riders.
Let us see how the Delhi players performed:
1. Quinton de Kock: 5/5
Continued his good form with the bat. Played one of the best innings of the tournament so far. Scored 108 in just 51 balls to take his side to a comfortable position.
2. Shreyas Iyer: 0.5/5
His poor form with the bat continued. He was dismissed without opening his account.
3. Sanju Samson: 1/5
Came in at a very vital position but disappointed everyone once again with his bat.
4. Karun Nair: 4.5/5
Scored a beautiful half century and gave a superb support to de Kock. Stayed till the end to see his side win without any hiccup.
5. JP Duminy: 2/5
Did not have much to do with the bat but pulled off a stunning catch to dismiss the dangerous Gayle early in the innings.
6. Pawan Negi: 2.5/5
Did quite well against the likes of Kohli and de Villiers on a pitch which had nothing in it for the bowlers.
7. Carlos Brathwaite: 2.5/5
Did not get the chance to bat but bowled a superb first over to dismiss in-form batsman de Villiers.
8.Chris Morris: 3.5/5
Arguably the best bowler of the match.Bowled beautifully in the end to restrict the score inside 200 which at one point was looking to cross 200 easily.
9. Mohammad Shami: 3/5
Took the key wickets of danger looking Shane Watson and Virat Kohli in the death overs to tilt the momentum towards his side.
10.Zaheer Khan: 2.5/5
Dismissed Chris Gayle in his very first over but conceded too many runs in the end.
11. Amit Mishra: 2/5
Had an off day with the ball. Conceded runs at an economy of over 8 runs per over.
