It’s a fact in a sport that records are meant to be broken. Every day, every week, we see new created being created and old ones getting surpassed. So, let’s take a look at the records that were created in this week i.e. from 9th November 2014-15th November 2014. 

1. Rohit Sharma made a world record for the highest ODI score by scoring 264 runs, surpassing Virender Sehwag’s 219. 

2. Rohit also became the 1st man in the history of cricket to score double centuries in ODIs. He had scored his first double century against Australia last year.

3. Virat Kohli became the quickest man to score 6000 runs in the ODI cricket. He made this record in his 136th inning in ODI Cricket.

4. Misbah-Ul-Haq became the most successful Pakistan Test Captain with 15 wins, surpassing Imran Khan and Javed Miandad’s 14.

5. Former South African fast-bowler Chris Morris recorded the best figures in T20 Cricket (4-3-2-2). He achieved this feat against Cape Cobras.

6. Billy Bowden became the first umpire to be the part of the ICC’s broadcasting trial between the umpires for fans in the first of the five match ODI series of Australia and South Africa at Perth. 

7. Pakistan achieved their longest sequence of five back-to-back Test innings declarations in the first Test against New Zealand at UAE. The world record for the longest sequence is six consecutive declarations by England in 2009. 

8. South African ODI captain AB de Villiers became the quickest man to score 7000 runs in ODI Cricket. He made this record in his 166th inning in ODI Cricket

9. Bangladesh batsman Mominul Haque today became the 4th player in the history of Test cricket to record 11th 50+ scores after 12 Tests. The first three ones were Everton Weekes, Sunil Gavaskar and Mark Taylor. 

10. Rohit Sharma played 173 balls during his knock of 264. This was the highest number of balls faced by any batsman in a 50-over ODI
