Sushant Singh Rajput, who emulated Mahendra Singh Dhoni in his biopic MS Dhoni: The Untold Story, payed his tribute to the captain, who stepped down as India’s limited-overs captain on January 4 (Wednesday).
The former Indian skipper, as he would be termed now, helped India win the inaugural edition of the T20 World Cup in 2007 and also guided them to their second ICC World Cup win 2011. Apart from this, he is the lone skipper in cricket history who has all the ICC trophies under his belt, including the Champions Trophy in 2013, which Indian won by defeating England in finals.
The actor, however, took to twitter to express his thoughts on MSD’s sudden call on his captaincy.
There is no one like you.
You’re the reason for millions of smiles.

Having known him closely and thus being in a good relation with the skipper, Sushant said he was saddened after hearing the news but feels Dhoni might have given a long thought before taking such a call. Speaking to DNA, he also claimed him as the best leader the country has ever got in past and further believed that filling his shoes won’t be an easy task for any other captain.
“No I don’t know the reason and I am really saddened by the news. Knowing him we can say that it must be a wise decision and it also explains why he is one of the best leaders we have had. He doesn’t share his personal stuff with anyone, the nation and the team always comes first for him. I’m gonna miss him dearly as the captain of Indian cricket team.”
